Our Mission

Angelis Oncology, Inc. is dedicated to developing new therapies for glioblastoma, the most common and lethal primary malignant brain tumor in adults, where patients continue to face an urgent need for more effective treatment options.

Our lead therapy, ANG038 (formerly PLX038), is a next-generation, long-acting PEGylated prodrug of SN-38, a potent topoisomerase 1 inhibitor that damages tumor DNA. ANG038 is designed to penetrate the blood-tumor-brain barrier, accumulate within glioblastoma tissue, and slowly release SN-38 within the tumor over an extended period. This approach seeks to deliver sustained anticancer activity where it is needed most while overcoming a fundamental limitation of existing SN-38–based therapies, including irinotecan and Trodelvy, which do not effectively treat glioblastoma.

ANG038 also provides a strong scientific foundation for combination with DNA damage response (DDR) inhibitors, which can impair cancer cells’ ability to repair the DNA damage produced by SN-38.

Our work is grounded in rigorous science and advanced through collaboration with the National Cancer Institute. Our mission is straightforward: to translate innovative science into meaningful new treatments that give patients with glioblastoma more time and more options.
